Pumpkin Hunting
Last Sunday was magnificent and Sam’s been working so hard that he just wanted to get out and about that day. We talked about prosperous tot he park after Vienna’s nap, and decided on running out to get a pumpkin and carving it over at Mimi & Poppies outfit (we go there many Sunday evenings). We went when they were only open for another 30 minutes, but we still found a pumpkin and got to look about a bit before heading over to my parents for pork chops.
we took a look at a few pumpkins and speedily settled on a nice big one!!
Vienna insisted on helping Sam transmit it to the counter (it was a LONG walk for a little one! and Sam’s back only good held out! ha ha ha)
Our pumpkin cost $6.50, doesn’t that seem a bit zealous to you!?!?!? I remember them being like 50cents growing up! has inflation gone up that much!?!? Anyway… we cheerfully paid it, cause it’s family time :). We put our pumpkin in the van and walked about the acreage a little bit.
We got to show Daddin’ the goats (Sam’s not been out to the grange there with Vienna yet).
Vienna was a bit upset that we didn’t have anything to “supported by the goat with daddin” And silly me didn’t show up sure that we had quarters for the feed machines… so we’ll have to do that another be that as it may for Sam to be able to be there.

Happy Halloween
Yup, I leaning Halloween. It’s silly, it’s goofy, it’s originative. It involves devilish amounts of candy. What’s better than that?
This past weekend, lots of kiddies in my neighborhood (socialites that they are) were making their rounds to Halloween pre-parties. I spotted a bumblebee, a insignificant Sponge Bob, and a few impressive action heroes I wasn’t up-to-time enough on my cartoons to identify. I saw a father dressed as a king and a mom dressed as a cat. This, in my belief, is a beautiful thing.
I have some big costume plans for Friday…I equitable have to work out a few kinks. Okay, I still have to work out all the kinks. First, it was material that I carved my joc-o-lantern (see above).
Of course, this time of year, I’m self-conscious to think about Halloweens gone by. A skating friend and I were talking over the phone about what costumes her three kids are successful to wear - Peter Pan, Hello Kitty, and a Pirate. This led us to the of inquiry of Halloween-past and she revealed that in 4th Grade, she dressed up as a Skating Scholastic. She carried a clipboard and wore her skates (with guards) around shape all day! Now that’s an homage.
One of my fondest (and maybe funniest) Halloween memories took lieu at the Madison Ice Arena when I was little. The Figure Skating Club of Madison’s Halloween cocktail that year was going to be a club fundraiser, a Skate-a-Thon for which we were alleged to get sponsors to donate something like 10 cents for every lap we could skate around the rink.
I was yourselves thrilled with this idea, since we would be doing our laps in costume. My older fellow-man was pleased as well, albeit for different reasons. In several ways, he had already proven himself to be moderately a businessman, so he threw himself wholeheartedly into raising money.

Ice skating
Saturday was a fun filled nonsensical day for us. We started out with donuts from Shipleys and staying in our PJs for awhile. I for all time got the kids dressed in their costumes and we headed to our second Bole or Treat event of the season. Since every church in our neighborhood has a return to event and since you can throw a rock in any direction from our porch and hit a church, there are very a few events. A couple of years ago they were all on the same day so it was easy to go to all of them. This year they are spread out on all odd days. We didn't get to stay too long at Trunk or Therapy as we had a birthday party to attend. My kiddos got to get a lot of candy, color a pumpkin, and run a tribe. Munchkin won the gold medal in her division.
The birthday soir was all the way up in Hendersonville at Circus World. The mom putting on the party had said when she gave us the invite that I could legitimate leave Munchkin there. I didn't have to stay. In my mind I dream "Are you insane? Do you realize how big that place is?" Circus World has a bowling alley, Ice Skating Rink, Laser Tag, Bumper Cars, a pizza/function room and Arcade. No way was I leaving my 6 year old there to run around unsupervised. Each of the kids at the celebration were given a wrist band so they could do whatever they wanted. Munchkin in point of fact wanted to try out ice skating first. Because Munchkin wanted to do it, so did Little Man! I asked him if he was contemporary to ice skate for 2 minutes and then freak out. He said no (which I knew he would) and I got him a ticket. We were acknowledged our ice skates by a guy in a huge uniformed bear suit. Superficially they were having a halloween bash there later that day.
