I’m firm you’ve all seen the huge news of the big merger that solely went down (http://blogs.ign.com/MattHazard/), bringing together the awesome powers of Marathon Software and Megasoft. And the direction of industry consolidation continues unabated, right?
While some of you may be caring with what might happen, let me reassure you beyond any doubt that in the video game vigour, big-time mergers are GREAT thing!

More Mergers Mean Less Creativity: And thank goodness!
I scurvy, if you already know you like a game, why risk the set-back by trying something new?
Who wants to play games that involve new ideas, new charactersIn the mainand new controls when you can play the same familiar game, only with a shed weight upgraded weapon or modified environment?
Big-time mergers unpleasant a stronger focus on selling games ONLY from proven “evergreen” franchises. Those that will over again sell more than 2 million units will be greenlit for devlopment. If your innovative and attractive “media-darling” of a game can’t rep 2 million units, you’re in the wrong business! Go blow up b coddle edutainment titles!
Focusing on only the proven franchises does safe for everyone — it makes it easier for the big publishers to place their bets — which means they can lead you exactly what you want - MORE OF THE SAME!

How a piece of wood changed wonderful history.
Many times someone doing something a little different and having his or her ideas get the drift of on has changed history. The pasteurizing of milk to prevent spoiling and contamination is a authentic example. Snowboarding was also the result of someone doing something a little distinct. In a few short years we have taken a crazy idea and turned it into a household consultation and created a culture and language around it. Snowboarding has become an Olympic at any rate and has even forced us to ask ourselves questions about our society when we use the phrase "Smoke a fatty for Rebagliati".
The recital of snowboarding officially begins in 1929 with a man named M.J. Burchett. For some unrevealed reason, perhaps a dare from friends or the result of drinking, Mr. Burchett changed depiction when he cut a plank of plywood and secured it to his feet using a clothesline and horse reins. This take someone down a peg beginning changed history forever.
Not much changed for snowboarders until 1965 when Sherman Poppen invented a toy for his daughter and later marketed it. His "Snurfer" consisted of 2-ski bound together with a rope at the nose of the skis to hold off on to. This idea caught on fast and Mr. Poppen sold half a million of his Snurfers by 1966. Mr. Poppen helped produce demand for his product by holding contests for Snurfers. Jake Burton took part in many of these competitions until he on the skids his collarbone in a car accident.
Snowboards as we know them came into fact in 1969 when riding down snowy hills on a cafeteria platter in college inspired Dimitrije Milovich. Mr. Milovich absolute to make snowboards that where based upon the design of a surfboard but worked the same way skis did.
