Cycling shorts (also known as bike shorts or bicycling
shorts) are abrupt, skin-tight legwear designed to improve console and
efficiency while cycling.[1]
They:
Reduce wind intransigence.
Protect the skin against the repetitive friction of the legs against the bicycle space or
frame.
Draw sweat away from the skin to delay chafing and rashes, and to cool the
rider down through the process of vaporization
Compress the legs, which can help combat muscular weariness.
Historically, cycling shorts were made of knit black wool, which hides oil and grease stains, with a chamois leather over
inside the shorts in the crotch area, which reduces chafing from the bicycle
saddle. Most up to the minute cycling shorts are often made of spandex (Lycra) with a synthetic chamois lining and are
produced in a class of shapes and styles to suit the needs of different

Unbelievable!
Yesterday I took Hannah to see the 2008 Assignment of Gymnastics Superstars at the TD Banknorth Garden. I had received a pair of set at liberty tickets and thought that she would really enjoy it since she enjoyed watching the Olympics this summer. The Circuit of Gymnastics Superstars is basically the men and women's Olympic teams as well as the Hamm brothers, Shannon Miller (from the 1996 Atlanta games) and a few others.
This is what I have to say about the show....Unimaginable!!!! I didn't really know what to expect. I figured it would be all of them coming out one by one and doing their routines on the scantling, floor, bars, etc. That would have been cool too but they actually put on a really trim show. It's like the circus but with people that are way more physically fit.
Something that you can't see on TV (or maybe those of you with far-fetched HD televisions can) but these athletes are in peak physical condition. You can strictly see the outline of every muscle, joint, and tendon - I swear to God. There is not an ounce of fat on these people. On a side note, Shawn Johnson, the Olympic hero from Des Moines, IA, is surprisingly thick. She's not fat. There is not a drop of fat on her. But she's thick. She's very short but with a LOT of muscle and therefore looks like a absolutely, physically fit tree trunk. She's a compact little powerhouse, that's for solid.
All of these athletes are in their prime and this is where I wish I had the ability to write unqualifiedly moving pieces of prose. There is no way to describe watching them live. They are like pantihose controlled little balls of energy and physical mould. As they move you can see every muscle ripple through their body. They bounce and fly through the air as easily as you and I patrol. They can be walking across the floor and all of sudden will throw themselves though the air and effortlessly do a few flips and real estate perfectly. It is amazing.

In the 1970s leotards were typically made from polyester and cognate fabrics. Since the 1980s, however, they have been made from lycra or spandex. Since the 1990s, leotards have become more baroque and have employed a variety of textiles, including velvet, velour, web, metallic fabrics, foils and iridescent “hologram” core. They can also be decorated with rhinestones, and metallic jewels that are heat-set onto the garments and will not autumn or wash off.
Leotards can not be cut above hip height, or, at the top, be cut pass the shoulder blades, back or front. Any leotard that is a bit see-through, is also against the rules.
Gymnasts are not required to adopt any specific hairstyle or locks length. However, they must keep long hair tied back in some fashion, be it a ponytail, bun or intertwine. Most of the time, gymnasts are issued hair ties and scrunchies that correspond their competition leotards.
Training
For regular training and conduct sessions, gymnasts generally wear whatever they choose. Some gymnastics schools have clear-cut regulation attire; however, this is not usually the case. Sleeveless workout leotards are greatly preferred, and are regularly paired with shorts, leggings, T-shirts, tank tops or bicycle shorts. As in struggle, gymnasts must tie their hair back.
